Terms
Plain terms for a defined piece of work.
These terms explain the standard internet office website service for business customers. The written project scope records the exact pages, price, payment schedule and any project-specific terms before payment. A contract begins when both sides accept those written terms. Work starts after the agreed first payment has cleared, or a written fee waiver has been recorded, and the readiness requirements are complete.
1. The parties and documents
“internet office” means Mr Pilgrim trading as internet office, of 34 St Nicholas Street, Bristol, BS1 1TG, United Kingdom. “Customer” means the business identified in the written project scope. The contract consists of the accepted project scope, these terms and any expressly incorporated document. The project-specific terms take priority if they conflict with this page.
2. Core website
The agreed core package costs £695, fixed and one-off, for a complete informational website of up to five main pages. Necessary privacy or legal pages do not use that allowance. It includes page planning, copy shaped from customer information, one visual direction, responsive implementation, standard contact or enquiry routes, technical search foundations and launch support. Exact pages, connections, exclusions and any approved extras are recorded before payment.
Unless added in writing, the package does not include ecommerce, custom software, user accounts, complex databases, regulated professional review, photography, full brand identity, paid media, ongoing search marketing, third-party subscription fees or guaranteed search rankings.
3. Payment
The standard £695 project is paid in two equal bank-transfer instalments: £347.50 before work begins and £347.50 before launch. A different total or schedule applies only when stated in the accepted project scope. No VAT is added because internet office is not VAT registered. Third-party costs such as domains, paid fonts or booking tools require approval and are paid by the customer unless expressly included.
4. Readiness and timing
Work begins when the agreed first payment, completed brief, required access and usable core materials are received. The project schedule is stated in the order form after internet office has reviewed the scope and desired launch date. Customer delays, changed requirements, provider outages and events outside reasonable control move the schedule.
5. Customer responsibilities
The customer must provide timely, accurate information and access; nominate one person to give consolidated feedback and approval; check names, claims, prices, qualifications, reviews and legal notices; secure permission for supplied words, logos, images and personal information; and avoid sending credentials through ordinary forms or email. internet office may refuse content that appears unlawful, deceptive, discriminatory, infringing or unsafe.
6. Copy, images and claims
internet office may draft and edit website copy, but the customer knows the business and gives final factual and regulatory approval. Supplied testimonials must be genuine and publishable with permission. Licensed stock may be proposed where appropriate and will not be represented as the customer's staff, premises, work or customers. Specialist legal, medical, financial or regulatory review is not included.
7. Feedback and revisions
The package includes one round of consolidated revisions within the agreed direction and scope. A round means one collated set of comments returned by the agreed date. Corrections of internet office errors do not use the revision round. New pages, a new direction, new integrations, fragmented feedback or additional rounds may require a written change and additional fee before work continues.
8. Approval and launch
The customer approves the final site in writing. internet office may treat the site as approved if the customer instructs it to go live. Launch depends on final payment, domain access, required legal details and any third-party accounts. The customer remains responsible for ongoing business claims and for notifying internet office when published facts change.
9. Ownership and licences
After full payment, the customer owns the final customer-specific website copy, design and code created for the project. Where the build fee is expressly waived, this takes effect on final written approval instead. internet office retains reusable tools and systems; open-source software and third-party assets remain under their own licences. The customer receives the licence needed to operate and modify the delivered site, and the source files, build instructions and transferable assets at handover. Editable design-tool files are included only if listed in the scope.
The customer retains ownership of its supplied materials. It grants internet office a licence to use them only as needed to deliver and support the project. internet office will not publish the work as a portfolio example unless the final agreement permits it; confidential or embargoed work remains protected.
10. Domain, hosting and ongoing work
The domain stays in the customer's name and account. One standard launch to an agreed compatible host is included in the build. Choose optional managed hosting at £25/month, or customer-owned hosting with provider bills and maintenance handled by the customer. No hosting subscription starts through an enquiry, a project brief or payment for the build.
The hosting service description forms part of a managed hosting order only when accepted in writing. The order records provider, billing owner, start date, form destination and data arrangements. The standard service includes 250 genuine form enquiries per calendar month and 1 GB of published site files; it excludes content edits, mailboxes, domain fees and custom applications. There are no automatic overage charges. Higher capacity or new work needs prior written approval.
Hosting is paid monthly in advance from launch. Either side may end it with 30 days’ written notice. Unused prepaid service after the end date is refunded pro rata. Price changes require at least 30 days’ notice and an opportunity to leave first. One standard source, transferable-asset and stored-data export with connection notes is provided without an exit fee; replacement hosting or custom migration development is separate. Ownership and export of a paid-for or expressly waived build are not withheld over a hosting dispute.
For overdue hosting fees, internet office gives written notice and at least 14 days to resolve payment before suspending service. Active abuse or a security threat may require immediate, proportionate restriction; internet office explains the action as soon as practicable and preserves a safe contact route where possible. No uninterrupted-service or 24-hour support guarantee is given.
11. Cancellation and stalled projects
Once substantive planning or production starts, the first payment covers reserved time and work already undertaken. If the customer cancels, the written project terms explain any remaining payment for completed work or committed third-party costs. If internet office cancels without customer fault, fees for undelivered work are returned and paid-for usable work is provided where reasonably possible.
If required information or feedback is more than 30 days late, internet office may move the work out of the active schedule. After written notice, a materially stalled project may be closed; restarting depends on availability and any rebooking cost is confirmed before work resumes.
12. Defects, third parties and search
For 14 days after launch, internet office will correct reproducible implementation defects within the agreed scope at no extra charge. This does not cover new requirements, customer or third-party changes, unsupported devices, external-service failures or security issues caused by credentials or access outside internet office's control.
Browsers, hosts, search engines, social networks, booking systems and other third parties change independently. internet office cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, acceptance, indexing, rankings, lead volume or commercial results.
13. Liability
internet office does not exclude liability where the law does not allow it to be excluded. Any project-specific liability limit, insurance requirement or treatment of indirect business loss is stated in the written terms accepted before payment.
14. Confidentiality, data and law
Each party protects non-public business information and uses it only for the project, subject to lawful disclosure and reasonable professional advisers. Personal information is handled under the privacy notice and any required processor terms. The contract is governed by the law of England and Wales, and both sides should first try to resolve a dispute in writing.
