What should an electrician website include?
An electrician website should make three things easy to check: whether you do the work, whether you cover the address and whether your credentials are genuine. Everything else supports those decisions.
Separate urgent work from planned work
An emergency fault, an EICR and a full commercial installation are different enquiries. Name the work you actually want and make the route clear. If you do not offer a 24-hour call-out, do not leave visitors to assume that you do.
Give important services their own explanation
List the service in customer language, then answer the practical questions: domestic or commercial, typical property or project, the area covered and what happens after contact. A useful page for EV charging, testing or rewires is better than repeating the same paragraph across many towns.
Make credentials verifiable
Show registration numbers and scheme names accurately, with a link to the relevant register where possible. Customers can use the Registered Competent Person Electrical search in England and Wales, while Electrical Safety First explains how to find a registered electrician across the UK. Confirm the wording and status before publishing it.
Use real proof
Photographs do not need to be dramatic. A neat consumer-unit installation, labelled commercial board, EV charger or finished lighting job can show care. Add a short caption so the customer knows what they are seeing. Genuine reviews should describe the kind of work, communication or reliability rather than sit as anonymous stars.
State the working area plainly
Name the towns or practical radius you cover. If planned commercial work travels further than domestic call-outs, say so. This helps the customer self-qualify and reduces messages from outside the patch.
Design for the phone call
Phone numbers should be tappable. Opening hours should be easy to find. If you need photographs, an address or a description before calling back, use a short form that asks for them. Do not hide the contact route behind a chat widget.
Answer the questions that delay contact
Useful answers may cover landlord reports, certification, occupied properties, commercial availability, estimates and what information to send. Avoid promising a price before the job can be understood.
